Statement regarding COVID 19

Although we don’t want to increase panic regarding the recent outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic we thought we would address what Happy Tails is doing to ensure our animal residents, caregivers and community are safe.

At this point we are taking proactive measures including limiting the number of people in our barns and property to essential personnel only. We will be increasing our cleaning routine and will ensure surfaces are disinfected.

Unfortunately we will have to postpone all visitors and events until further notice. We hope that this will be over and done with within a month or two, but if not we will be closed to the public for the upcoming season. If you have registered for our compassion camps, your registrations are still valid, we just will not be accepting  payment until we have a clearer idea of what this pandemic will do.

We have reached out to our local feed store who has told us they do not plan on closing. We purchased a month’s worth of food just in case.

We anticipate a huge drop in donations if people are not able to come on to the sanctuary this season. Our summer events including school visits, community visits, camps, tours and fundraisers are integral in our winter straw and hay funds, veterinary care, infrastructure and our veterans and youth programs. We would like to thank our monthly sponsors and donors for their continued support. We know that uncertainty can breed fear. Your monthly support is integral every day, but particularly in times like these.

Please consider giving a gift to the animals and our sanctuary by making a tax deductible donation.

It takes charity to make community strong, and community to make charities strong.
